โ€œYou canโ€™t be too friendly with your staff.โ€
โ€œIf youโ€™re close to your team, theyโ€™ll walk all over you.โ€
โ€œKeep some distance, or they wonโ€™t respect you.โ€

๐Ÿงจ Myth #4: "You can't be friends with your staff..."

And guess what?
That made me want to show up even more.
Not because I feared them.
But because I didnโ€™t want to let them down.

๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜โ€™๐˜€ ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜ ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€.

Iโ€™ve seen the โ€œcold bossโ€ act.
The kind that hides behind closed doors and corporate buzzwords.
Sure, they got the job done but no one followed them out of loyalty. Just survival.

๐ŸคฃGive me the boss who laughs at team lunches.
The one who rolls up their sleeves when weโ€™re slammed.
The one who says, โ€œHey, Iโ€™ve been there too.โ€
Thatโ€™s who Iโ€™ll go the extra mile for.

Letโ€™s cut the nonsense.

This idea that you have to be a โ€œstone-faced managerโ€ to be respected?
Thatโ€™s yesterdayโ€™s playbook - dinosaurian age.

Todayโ€™s workforce?
They want real. They want human. They want you.

You donโ€™t lose respect by being approachable.
You lose it by being inconsistent, dismissive, or hiding behind your title.

You can laugh with your team and still run a tight ship.
You can connect deeply and still lead firmly.

Respect isnโ€™t about being feared.
Itโ€™s about being trusted.
